SB 2993 SD2 HD2    RELATING TO THE ENVIRONMENT.
HSCR 1072-00       Requests a variety of studies, including the Hawaii State
                Emergency Response Commission to evaluate safety of chemical
                facilities statewide.  Expands duties of the Environmental Council
                to include conducting investigations to secure information
                concerning ecology and environmental quality. (EEP,CPC/JHA,FIN)


SB 2545 HD1        RELATING TO GLASS RECOVERY.
HSCR 1030-00       Adds new definition of "import" to glass container recovery law.
                Changes imposition of penalty from a civil to an administrative
                action. (EEP,JHA,FIN)


SB 2879 SD2 HD1    RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE TIRES.
HSCR 1054-00       Imposes $1 surcharge on all imported tires to be used for tire
                management, collection, disposal, recycling, marketing, reuse, and
                illegal dumping programs.  Requires all entities accepting used
                tires to maintain records regarding the collection and disposal of
                the tires. (EEP,FIN)


SB 2287 SD1 HD2    RELATING TO THE PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION.
HSCR 1070-00       Establishes a utility lines and related facilities undergrounding
                program and a mechanism to fund the program. (EEP,CPC,FIN)


SB 2200 SD1        RELATING TO THE PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION.
HSCR 935-00        Provides that the greater of $1,000,000, or two-thirds of the
                moneys in the public utilities commission special fund, shall
                remain in the special fund, with the excess lapsing into the
                general fund.  Requires the commission to report annually to the
                legislature on certain fund activities. (CPC,FIN)


SB 2729 SD1 HD1    RELATING TO SERVICE CONTRACTS.
HSCR 985-00        Regulates service contracts and contractual liability insurance
                policies. (CPC,FIN)
